Where do we begin to describe how pleased we are about this gig! Shackleton, Skull Disco...Heavy. Micky from NakedLunch? Even Heavier.

BASS CLEF - Carnival Bass
10th December 2010
The London-dwelling producer and live performer has earned himself a considerable cult following over the years, first turning heads with his distinctive 2006 debut LP, A Smile Is A Curve That Straightens Most Things – which combined influences from grime, dancehall, dubstep, with an all too rare dose of humour, heartbreak and humanity worked into the equation .
The subsequent EPs, Hackney Centralist, Opera and Zamyatin Tapes Vols. 1 and 2, found him refining that mixture to increasingly potent effect, and February 15 sees the release of a new Bass Clef full-length, May The Bridges I Burn Light The Way, via the Blank Tapes label which has been his home since day one. Bass Clef current album “May The Bridges I Burn Light The Way” has brought a new sense of carnival to the heavy dance party.
He is a live act with real dance-floor pressure, his live show bypasses laptop/looping and has an infectious and giddy allure. Hot as hell party-starter. Following countless club appearances at Big Chill, Sonar, Fabric, Bloc Weekend the Bass Clef one-man soundsystem is now in full effect across the globe with debut shows in Australia and a full EU tour 2010. Standout cut ‘Promises’ has garnered radio play from Huw Stephens, Mary Anne Hobbs & Trevor Nelson already and has yet to be promo’d. Now he makes his Debut appearance in Belfast bringing his carnival feel to the Black Box for a christmas shindig with bass! www.myspace.com/bassclefbass http://bass-clef.blogspot.com/

The heavyweight selectors make their début appearance in Belfast at this year’s festival, bringing you bass-line pressure in Dub, Reggae & Dub-Step

Space Dimension Controller + DJ Acroplane Recordings + Rudimentary DJs + BEW visuals
Saturday 5th September / 10pm / Black Box / £5
Doing some kind of Djing this Saturday in support of T-Woc and Space Dimension Controller. If your about and fancies some dubby goodness please pop into the Black Box! Rudimentary will be on the wheels from doors followed by the good man behind Acroplane. I'd say there will be all sorts of nonsense on the go here.
Whats going on?
Flevans! Good times...
The question is often asked, just how sane is the Mad Professor? Judging by the contents of his character, the results of his recordings and the variety of the artistes that have passed through his Ariwa Studios, then he is certainly one of the sanest producers around.

The first in a series of events we are calling 'The Explorer's Club' sees the the Rudimentary Residents (Including two news faces, Ben Jones aka Sofa Kid & Pete Harbourne) pair up with the unflappable Fork Rock duo 'Scorpion Jack'. The lads wanted to launch the Debut album and then have an ole rave. And so the idea was born.
Derry Air Pleased to announce our first away gig. We will be hitting the upstairs bar, Sandino's in Derry. There be a bit of a birthday tip to this and we'll be giving the first 20 of our guests a free mix CD of some sort.
Fono One will also be joining us to deliver a mesh of live gear and a Dj set, Jan Jaffer will be at hand to serve up some nice house/techno, Beckett will give us some DnB/Dubstep and J.King will down with all sorts of everything.
Come down for the japes it's £3
Over the weekend myself and Andy had the pleasure of playing some tunes down at the skate/graff jam at the unit 13 skatepark in dunmurry...a bunch of local artists were coralled together by kev largey to paint some pieces. We got positioned in a wicked spot in between the halfpipe and one of the ramps, so we could check out all the action while we were dropping some tunes.
Andy ended up assisting Connie with a character on her piece (it's the big mad fuzz ball).
Big up to everyone we met down there, including Liam, top man, check their site here, http://www.ourbus.org/ they do some great work!
